The population of the village of Oleksandrivka of Bobrovytsia district of Chernihiv region suffered from the Holodomor genocide of 1932-1933. The mass grave of the victims is located in the center of the village. Accordingly to the testimonies of local inhabitant Hurbich (Shovkun) Mariia Kyrylivna (born on October 13, 1920, in Vyla hamlet near Oleksandrivka village), who moved to Oleksandrivka with her family in 1932, in 1912 the in the village center the manor of Sribliansky was built. Later, a school was found on the manor territory. However, it burned down. Then, during the Holodomor, the large pits were excavated there. The dead bodies of the victims were thrown down into them.
