An oak cross (memorial sign) to the 1932–1933 Holodomor victims was erected in 2008 in the village of Malynivka.
Almost one in five residents of Malynivka died of physical exhaustion during the Holodomor, and children were dying the most. Apparently, it was more difficult for fragile organisms to cope with both the lack of vitamins and the numerous infectious diseases that raged in the village.
