The information about the mass grave at the cemetery of Hnidyn village was given by the Holodomor eyewitness Mariia Leontiivna Kosharna (born in 1919). Her testimonies were approved by the local historian Vasyl Ivanovych Halatenko.
The monument the Holodomor of 1932-33 victims is located nearby. It was erected in 2003, and in 2017, two tables with the lists of the names of those killed by famine were added.
