The first agricultural artel was founded in Deremezna in 1922. In 1930, there were 184 yards in the village, where 800 people lived. In the same year a collective farm named after Stalin was organized. During its creation, 19 wealthy families were dekulakized. About 250 people were killed by starvation. Due to the interviews with survivora, the names of 150 victims were established.

One Holodomor victims mass grave is now known in the village cemetery, where a memorial to the Holodomor victims has been erected in 1993.
