The population of Pokrovske village (Tokmatskyi district, Zaporizka region) suffered from the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.

On November 22, 2008, in the center of the village, on the square between the village club and the school, over the mass burial, the Memorial cross (the non-lit candle) was installed. On the stylized table near the candle, the cut loaf of bred lies; on the basis, there are the spikes bound by the ribbon made of iron and the sign “To the Memory of the Victims of 1932-1933 Holodomor in Tokmak region.”
According to the eyewitness’ testimonies, the local inhabitant Pelaheia Shchedra, it is approximately the place where farmers dead from the famine were buried in1932-1933. People were unable to carry their bodies to the cemetery, that s why the corpses were left in the center of the village.
