The population of Polohy town (Zaporizka region) suffered from the Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
At the old cemetery on Zarichna Street, at the mound, there is the mass burial place. On its top, eastern and, partly, western sides, there are about 20 graves. They look like the small hills of the land, somewhere there are the stones (limestone) merking them.
In November of 2008, over the mass grave of the Holodomor victims, the monument (the stone with the sign attached) was installed.
