The population of Pidhirne village (Vasylivskyi district, Zaporizka region) suffered from the Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. At the south-eastern part of the village, at Chkalova street, there are the places of mass burials of people killed by famine.
On May 9, 2008, in the center of the village, the memorial sign to the 1932-1933 Holodomor victims was installed.
