The population of Skelky village (Vasylivskyi district, Zaporizka region) suffered from the 1932-1933 Holodomor in Ukraine.
The bodies of those killed by famine were buried at the south-western outskirt of the village, near the bank of Kakhovka Reservoir at the cemetery in the common pit. The names of 52 persons are now known.
On November 27, 2007, over the mass grave, the monument to the 1932-1933 Holodomor victims was installed. This is the wooden cross 4 meters high.
