The population of Vodianyky village (Zvenyhorodskyi district, Cherkaska region) suffered from the Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. More than 300 people were killed by starvation.
At the cemetery, there is the place of mass burial of the Holodomor victims. Mykola Ivanovych Movchan installed the wooden cross there.
