Victims: 760

The population of Myrnohrad town (until 2016 it was called Dymytrov) of Donetska oblast suffered from the Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933.

In 1932-1933, there were two miners’ villages at the place of present Myrnohrad. They belonged to Novoekonomichnyi and Hrodivskyi mineries. Whole families of the inhabitants of the villages worked in mines. They were getting the food for working there, that’s why many starving peasants from the villages around were coming for work to the mines.

The martyrology of Myrnohrad town was compiled on the basis of the data of the Registrarion Book (State Archives of Donetsk Region, stock P-6843, cases 1 and 8). It consists of 760 people.

At the place of the mass burial of the 1932-1933 Holodomor victims, which is located at the territory of Gagarin park, the memorial plate was installed.
