The population of Mykhailivka village (Pervomaiskyi district, Kharkivska region) suffered from Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933. 151 persons killed by starvation were identified. On the basis of survivors’ testimonies, the mass burial place was found, where the memorial cross was installed.
In Mykhailivka village, in accordance with death registration data on the period of 1932-1933, in the department of the registry office of Pervomaisk justice department, 151 Holodomor victims are registered. However, the eyewitnesses (Petriaieva Ye.D. (born in 1919), Kartavtseva N.P. (born in 1925), Hrekova N.H. (born in 1926), Luhanska M.K. (born in 1926), Chastii M.I. (born in 1928), Dmytriyeva A.A. (born in 1918), Proskura M.I. (born in 1924), who survived Holodomor, state that official data is not correct. No one was counting the dead, whole families were dying from starvation.
