The population of Matviyivka village (Myronivskyi district, Kyivska region) suffered from the Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933.

The village was created in 1920s’. It is named after the peasant Matvii Dubyk, who was organizing the migration of the peasants from Zelenky village to the steppe, on the new place. In 30s’, the village belonged to Bohuslavskyi district. In 1932, there was a collective farm called “Sotsialistychna Peremoha”(“The Socialist Victory”).

During the Holodomor of 1932-1933, about 200 persons died in the village. Only 19 of them are identified, 7 of them are children. The martyrology – the list of the Holodomor victims from Matviyivka village is created according to the testimonies of A. Maksymenko, Yu. Lukianenko, K. Lukianenko, recorded in 2008 by the secretary of Viktorivska village council N. Yakovenko.

At the mass burial place (village cemetery), the memorial cross made of stone was erected.
