The population of Basivka village (Sumy district, Sumy region) suffered from Holodomor-Genocide of 1932-1933. A mass Holodomor victims’ burial place is located in the western part of the village cemetery (just in front of it). The grave of the chairman of the collective farm and his wife, executed by German invaders in 1942, is located above the mass burial ground there.
