The population of Yavkyne village (Bashtanskyi district, Mykolaivska region) suffered from Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. 324 persons died. Nowadays, 37 persons killed by starvation are identified. At the cemetery, there is the place of mass burial of Holodomor victims.
