The village Myrivka in the Kagarlytsky district of the Kyiv region suffered from the Holodomor of 1932-1933. There are two places of mass graves of the Holodomor victims in Myrivka.
40 people died per day in the village during the Holodomor. According to the testimonies of eyewitnesses, 344 people died from hunger in the village during the Holodomor (the names of the victims were identified). In fact, there were significantly more deaths during the Holodomor. According to the testimonies of eyewitnesses, 192 people have been buried in the cemetery on the Narodna street (old cemetery).
The Act on the Installation of a Place of the Mass Grave of the Holodomor Victims of dated from 01.12.2016 was adopted after the excavations carried out by the Communal Enterprise of Lviv Oblast Council “Dolya”.
The memorial sign for commemorating the Holodomor victims was installed in the place of the mass grave of the Holodomor victims on the Narodna street in the village.
The installation of the memorable sign was carried out with the financial support of the head of the Private Enterprise “Myrivske” Victor Verholias and the local public activists, among them, are Nadiia Tymchenko, Vasyl Pogorily, Nadiia Zelinska, Ivan Lysyi.
