The population of Yasenove village (Okhtyrskyi district, Sumska region) suffered from Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933. Before 1993, in Yasenove village there were 800 yards, and after Holodomor only 170 of them left. There are two places of mass burials of Holodomor victims in the village. In 1997, in Pozkopy hamlet, which was affiliated to Yasenove village, the memorial sign to the victims of Holodomor of 1932-1933 was installed.
