The population of Kozhenyky village (Bilotserkivskyi district, Kyivska region) suffered from Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933.

There is no archival data about the village in the 1930s. However, there is the history of Kozhenyky village, written by the history teachers at the beginning of the 1960s. They defined, that in 1926 in Kozhenyky village 1557 people lived. The collective farm named after the 9th of January of 1905 was created in 1929. People do not remember the number of the dekulakized families and their surnames. The dekulakization was carried out by the village activists Artem Bondarenko, Kalenyk Sych, Panas Bezpalyi. The collective farm was not put onto the black board.

The head of the collective farm Talymon Protsenko was helping his co-villagers to survive during the Holodomor. In 1937 he was shot as the enemy of people. This was recorded according to the eyewitnesses’ testimonies.

During the Holodomor 275 persons died in the village. The mass grave of the Holodmor victims is located at the cemetery. At the mass grave the wooden cross was installed.
