The population of the Novobohdanivka village of Melitopol district of the Zaporizia region suffered from the 1932-1933 Holodomor genocide. In the village in the old cemetery there is a place of mass burial of victims of the Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
Also, near the village was a Petrovsky hamlet, where there were 16 mansions. The mansions become extinct during the Holodomor.
