The population of the Gulyaypole city in the Gulyaypil district of the Zaporizzya region suffered from the Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933.
The memorial sign is an oak cross, installed at the central cemetery, where there were the places of mass burials of people killed by famine in 1932-1933. The cemetery is located 3 km to the southeast from the bus station in Huliaipole. The oak cross was produced by the workers of the collective farm “Engels” for the finances of Private Enterprise “Delo.” It was erected in 1992.
