The population of the Gorbani village in the Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky district of the Kyiv region suffered from the Holodomor genocide of 1932-1933. The burial place of the victims of the famine is a rural cemetery. 2003 a memorial sign to victims of the Holodomor was installed at the village cemetery on the initiative of the village council.
